SAVE THE SAFE ZONE

Thanks to our successful campaign, Ealing made history on the 10th April 2018 by implementing the first ever ‘safe zone’ around an abortion clinic in the UK.

For the past couple of years, clinic users and staff have finally been protected from the daily anti-choice intimidation and harassment that had occurred at the gates of the clinic for more than 23 years.

The piece of legislation used for the ‘Mattock Lane Safe Zone’ was a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). This order was made for the maximum three-year period allowed by the legislation and is due to expire on 10 April 2021.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Ealing Council are currently consulting on whether to extend the PSPO and we need as many people as possible to complete the consultation.

Please read the guidance below and then press the big pink button to complete the consultation (a really short SurveyMonkey) by Monday 18th January 2021.

Consultation Guidance

Sister Supporter strongly believes that if the PSPO were to lapse it is extremely likely that:

  • anti-choice activity will occur or recur in the area covered by the current safe zone

  • the activities listed will increase in frequency in the area covered by the current safe zone

  • activities will increase in seriousness in the area covered by the current safe zone

We believe the PSPO needs to be extended by the full 3 years.

THANK YOU!
